I am an Associate Professor in Applied Ethics at IDEA, the Ethics Centre in the University of Leeds. With Luke Brunning, I co-direct the Centre for Love, Sex and Relationships (CLSR). You can follow us on Twitter and Instagram. We also co-lead the Ethical Dating Online Research Network.
My research is mainly in the area of the philosophy of sex and love. I teach courses in medical ethics and in the ethics of loving relationships.
I am also on the Executive Committee of the Society for Applied Philosophy.
Before working at Leeds I had some time out of academia and worked as a school teacher and at the Civil Service. I completed my PhD in Philosophy in 2014 at the University of Sheffield.
Please note I am currently on maternity leave until July 2026.
